is a menswear label and conscious project based between Abidjan and Paris.
LaurenceAirline brings together a path between cultures drawing contemporary timeless basic silhouettes with deep African roots.
Re-imagining the African continent’s cultural inheritance in a way that fashion and ethnic cultures can successfully collaborate to create possibilities for the future is the driving force behind LaurenceAirline.
The entire line is made in accordance with conscious and sustainable manufacturing practices in LaurenceAirline's workshop in Ivory Coast, where local people are trained to produce high quality garments following international standard.
Valuing bold aesthetics and sustainable development, the label merges creativity coming from Africa with the sophisticated standards of modern societal way of life.
In that frame, worldwide sold LaurenceAirline’s collections help build Africa’s modern reality into the international fashion scene.
Laurenceairline was founded in 2010 by Laurence Chauvin-Buthaud and she would like to thank the people who helped her giving birth to the LaurenceAirline's project: Christina Schatzeder , Zohaer Majhadi , Philippe Galowich , Renaud Chauvin-Buthaud.
For Autumn-Winter 2013-2014, LaurenceAirline drew her inspiration from a meeting between India and Africa.
The idea of a modern crusade across continents is embodied in a peaceful struggle reminded by the use of camouflage fabric and military-inspired details.
Classic cut shirts are embellished with military details such as uniform epaulettes or military-inspired pockets. Mixing materials showcase a rich navy blue range.
But it is the geometric applications of fabrics attached to the shirts that the collection takes its name from. Indeed, variations of square motifs placed at the center of shirts evoke a mandala shape.
Like a graphic coat of arms, the mandala symbolizes the energetic connection to which LaurenceAirline’s men rally.
Available in inserts or printed, it adorns the shirts, coats and camisoles of this modern crusader knight.
Predominant in the collection, these graphic compositions textiles, reminiscent of the mandala, incarnate an abstract and spiritual heraldic. These geometric shaped quilts are placed on the chest and follow the thread of contrasting harmonies and printed material.
From the spice route, the collection retains a proposal of ocher and saffron fabric with printed graphics and checkered brick. They are supplemented by printed gingham, polka dots and camouflage.
In the range of solid materials, this season, navy holds a prominent place. Shades of indigo, dark blue ink go to the chord of black with blue materialin the composition of the shirts. Printed poplin whit polka dots on a navy blue background mitigates this camaieu.
A Johdpur trousers invites itself this season in the broad proposition of feu de plancher cigarette pants enhanced for some, with contrasting stripes on the sides.
This season, for the first time, the designer presents a few styles with a winter cross over.
Black cotton three-quarter trench coats light up with an asymmetrical lapel in printed fabric.
Thus, LaurenceAirline’s frame is embodied on trench coats, jackets and coats lined with printed silk.
